To mark the return of the Office des Phabricants d’Univers Singuliers (OpUS) to Les Tombées de la Nuit, Pascal Rome has cobbled together this little burlesque duo form, based on a sketch that was part of Le Grand Débarras (premiered at Parc Saint-Cyr in 2019). In other words, the intertwined adventures of Mr Mangin and Mr Maugin, both trying to sell a house by offering a virtual tour on a blue tarpaulin in the middle of the street… We need say no more. We already know that this clever poetic blurring of the lines between fiction and reality will produce an irresistible blend of humour and endearing madness.

BIOGRAPHY
> COMPAGNIE OpUS (France)
Since 1995, the Office des Phabricants d’Univers Singuliers (OpUS) has been draconian in applying Pascal Rome’s poetic, offbeat vision of the theatrical world, to great appeal. In this picturesque artistic language, totally down to earth, humorous and quirky, with a nod to art brut as well as myriad inventors, the creations shake up the usual stage rules and establish a unique relationship with the spectator. A long-time partner of Les Tombées de la Nuit, OpUS has already performed in Rennes the irresistible greatness of La Quermesse de Ménétreux (a creation), and the theatrical shows and installations Musée Bombana de Kokologo, Collier de nouilles, Conservatoire des Curiosités, La Ménagerie mécanique… Followed by L’Excursion in Laillé (creation), then La Veillée (2014 and 2018) and La grande tablée (2022), a new short form out of Grand Débarras (creation 2019) is a creation which is a logical part of this event, providing some zany laughs.
