Belgian Pierre Pilatte returns to Les Tombées de la Nuit in a duo with Sophie Borthwick for a short, meandering performance featuring Peter Handke and Mathieu Monnot’s electro music. Starting with the monologue of a woman recounting her geographical, life-oriented and philosophical wanderings, and the distant presence of a disorderly moving body, a journey begins. Poetic performance, burlesque debauchery and a surreal story that ends, as with all 1Watt company shows, with a great moment of community, dance and the quirky reclaiming of our public and private space.

BIOGRAPHY
> COMPAGNIE 1WATT (France/Belgium)
Since 2000, Pierre Pilatte, Sophie Borthwick and their company 1 Watt have been roaming, exploring and transforming public spaces with their quirky, absurd and burlesque performances. In this radical take on public space, the company builds precarious, animated and changeable constructions that function in a specific relationship to the place and its transformation. Les Tombées de la Nuit has notably hosted Le fanfare balais (2007), the construction of a Wall (2008), the construction site attempts of Beau travail (2012), the unbridled and evolving solos of Parfait état de marche (2007) and Be Claude (2015). The company takes a radical, humorous and sarcastic approach to the possible uses of the city, offering playful non-solutions that are explorations, pathways and metaphors for all encounters, all through one ostensible code of conduct: “Be unproductive, build, dismantle, cultivate idiocy, seek trouble, fail easily, persist, start again…”
