From her father’s dojo to Wilfride Piollet’s classical dance classes, from Berlin and New York’s alternative dance scenes to Kyoto’s Villa Kujoyama and Les Noctambules, the circus arts centre in Nanterre that she co-directs with Olivier Verzelen, dancer and choreographer Satchie Noro has always been a fan of versatile, multidisciplinary dance. In 2002, she founded the Furinkaï company, which works particularly on choreographic writing “outside the theatre” and explores the dialogue between body and apparatus as a catalyst for its environment.

A graduate of the École nationale supérieure des arts de la marionnette in Charleville-Mézières, Élise Vigneron founded the Théâtre de l’Entrouvert company in 2009. With Axis Mundi, co-created with Anne Nguyen at the 2019 Avignon Festival, she began a work cycle around ice, which will continue with Lands, Glace, Les vagues. At a crossroads between disciplines, she is founding a contemporary vision of the puppetry arts. Her creations are the fruit of in-depth work on enacting temporary material, where she invites spectators to enjoy a physical experience.
