After Tzef Zon(e), Barrez and Distro scheduled at Les Tombées de la Nuit in 2023, the C’hoari company is continuing its exploration of contemporary dance rooted in Breton tradition by inviting two skateboarders (Basile Danet and Damien Thébaud) in this new trio creation for the public space. Closeness of values and physical engagement, passing on practices and techniques… Da Gouskate is a choreographic ode to freedom and exchange, to community and joyful resistance. A delightful portrait of young people in Brittany who are open and supportive, and play on influences and conformism!

BIOGRAPHY
> COMPAGNIE C’HOARI (France / Bretagne)
Pauline Sonnic and Nolwenn Ferry met while training at the Centre national de danse contemporaine in Angers. After these two years, they felt the need to explore their shared Breton cultural heritage. Pauline is pure Breton, trained in Lorient, then at the Conservatoire de Nantes. Nolwenn is an adopted Breton from Lorraine, trained at the conservatoires in Metz and Lille. Their interest in Breton traditions allows them to question the social and cultural aspects of the past. In 2019, they created their first piece, Tsef Zon(e), dedicated to the world of Fest-noz, revisiting the rules and values of these traditional festive gatherings. This is an interest in the world of regular working bars that they are taking further in a new creation for the public space, Distro (2022), with its short site-specific version, Barrez (2023). The Breton-based duo continue to question the meeting of these worlds of yesteryear and modern times with Fiskal (2025), a new choreographic creation mixing traditional dance and skate and its public space version, Da Gouskate (2025).
