Composer, pianist and performer Melaine Dalibert returns to Les Tombées de la Nuit for this special concert to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the cult album Köln Concert by American pianist Keith Jarrett. A long improvised sequence recorded in front of an audience at the Cologne opera house on 24 January 1975, which went on to sell 3.5 million albums and create a lyrical and romantic crossover between classical, jazz and pop. BIOGRAPHY
> MELAINE DALIBERT (France)
Born in 1979, Melaine Dalibert is a French pianist, performer and composer who blends his own works with the contemporary repertoire. After studying at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris, he worked regularly with musicians such as Will Guthrie, Sylvain Chauveau, Ensemble 0, Joachim Florent, Manuel Adnot, Stéphane Garin and his brother Elie Dalibert in the Unicorn quartet. He regularly collaborates with artists on exhibitions and performs in French and international art centres and festivals – including Autres Mesures in Rennes, where he co-manages the musical programme. He has released over a dozen albums, on the Another Timbre (UK), Elsewhere Music (USA), Sub Rosa (BG), Flau (JP) or Ici d’Ailleurs (FR) labels, including the latest Eden, Fall (2024), After Us with Olivier aMellano (2024), Magic Square (2023) and Shimmering (2022). Today he is doing two of his ‘special programmes’: Musique pour le lever du jour by Robert Schumann and The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett.
