Romain Joubert’s ‘cyclo-electronica’, a utopian prototype bicycle that doubles up as a musical instrument, will bring his summer tour to a close at Les Tombées de la Nuit, where he will be performing at the Les Nuits de Fourvière festival in Lyon. That will make 800 kilometres by bike, dedicated to collecting, meeting people and playing concerts that respect environmental issues… Somewhere between art brut and pop culture, DIY and musique concrète, Joube’s ingenious and virtuoso mechanical electro symphony is above all a marvellous live experience that takes us through a memorable sonic journey on the dancefloor!
Thursday, July 3, starting at 6:30 p.m., don’t miss his commented arrival at Le Grand Huit! In partnership with Médiatone and La Poursuite

BIOGRAPHY
> ROMAIN JOUBERT (France)
A musician and composer for the screen and live performance, Romain Joubert began his career with a ten-year course at the Lyon jazz conservatoire, before embarking on research into organic materials for electronic projects with multi-diffusion sound installations. In 2019, in line with his growing awareness of the climate crisis, he began to use his old city bike as an instrument, by putting microphones on it. Developing this mobile stage space further, he added a bass string and various accessories to the saddle and handlebars. In 2024, he launched this concept of touring by bike, which enabled him to add a collection dimension to his music, depending on the areas he travelled through. This dual personality shines through in his music, which is both sensitive and made for the dancefloor. Somewhere between DIY instrumentation, DIY-electro and toy music, JOUBe is continuing its musical explorations using CAM, somewhere between a live game installation, live art and contemporary dance.
