Solar diva groove, funk, hip-hop & new-soul

Over three albums, the singer from Rennes, originally from Guadeloupe, has magnificently defined a highly personal musical universe, underpinned by the unique vocal signature of her powerful, clear voice, bursting with feeling, soul and gospel. Emane’s radiant, sun-kissed voice is at the heart of a very contemporary journey that includes soul, blues and groove, hip-hop, RnB and dance-hall. Her new more rock-based EP On my way (2024) marks the evolution of an artist capable of navigating different musical genres without losing either her originality or her vocal strength, emotionally rich concerts.

BIOGRAPHY

> EMANE (France)

After studying at the Conservatoire, Emane moved to Rennes in 2002 to study musicology and a course in social careers. Her father is a singer of Gwoka, the traditional song of Guadeloupe, and she has a passion for soul, gospel, hip-hop, Michael Jackson and Beyoncé. After various musical experiences as a backing and lead singer in different music groups, she took the path of a solo career with a self-titled debut EP in 2017, with an electro gospel universe and new soul, hip-hop and funk influences. She released her debut album four years later, Like a woman, with ten RnB-oriented tracks in English. The lyrics explore the status of women, humanity, sharing, generosity… The album was helped by the Rennes-based Horizon scheme, an artistic spotlight led by Antipode and Jardin Moderne, in partnership with 4Bis and Canal B radio. She played at Transat en ville, Quartiers d’été, the fête de la musique, 1988 Live Club, Champs libres… Her new album, the EP On my way, was released in March 2024.
