Collection of Love Stories

After Métamorphées ou l’éloge de l’aube, a project devoted to portraits of local people waking up, Les Tombées de la Nuit are continuing their work with Rennes-based photographer Anne-Cécile Esteve on her new project À vos amours, devoted to amorous encounters. Based on the testimonies gathered from the people of Rennes, she will be building a “map of tenderness” to capture the beating heart of the city, with a first exhibition planned for the Glaz 2025 festival. A magnificent work in progress around intimacy and the spoken word. It’s also a poetic adventure in which you can take part, on your own or with others.

BIOGRAPHY

> ANNE-CÉCILE ESTEVE (France)

Born in 1976, Rennes-born Anne-Cécile Esteve discovered photography as a teenager, taking photos of her friends and learning how to use the darkroom, a passion that has stuck with her ever since. In Indonesia, her work focuses on humanist photography for development and human rights organisations. On her return to France, nourished by her many human and professional experiences, alongside commissioned work, her personal work focuses mainly on women and men with unique life paths (Cicatrice, Permis de construire, Mue, Épilogue and Faire corps dans les Monts d’Arrée….) A sphere of intimacy, between social and artistic study, expressed in particular with Métamorphées ou l’éloge de l’aube (2020) and À vos amours (2025), two projects supported by Les Tombées de la Nuit. For Anne-Cécile, photographing people is really about listening. But above all, it’s a pretext for human encounters, around the themes of identity, memory and resilience.
