Photo exhibition  • For all ages
And may yours last forever

After Métamorphées ou l’éloge de l’aube, a photographic project on one’s relationship with self-image while waking up (presented at Les Tombées de la Nuit in 2021 and 2022), Anne-Cécile Esteve tackles the subject of romantic love through the participatory project À vos amours.
The Rennes-based photographer is “deeply convinced that poetry is the only outlet we have today, and that to continue to hold out hope for the future, it is essential to see and hear beautiful things, to immerse ourselves in it, and to remember what binds us together.”

This conviction gave rise to the desire to listen to the heart of the city and to photograph Rennes through its love stories. Because a city is also built on these romantic experiences. After all, don’t we get attached to a place because of the people we have met there, the relationships we have forged and the stories we leave behind us?

Since November 2024, Anne-Cécile Esteve has worked across the city, collecting stories of love and romance from the people of Rennes, and then using them as an inspiration to photograph the streets, squares and parks they mention.

Like a map of love, the À vos amours exhibition will take visitors on a poetic and romantic tour of the city through the prism of these intimate yet universal life stories, from 16 November in the heart of the La Courrouze neighbourhood.
