BIOGRAPHY

> LIZA BANTEGNIE (France)

Born in Douarnenez and educated in Quimper, Liza Bantegnie moved to Paris after her studies and founded the group This is Pop in 2005. She made her first album with Lollipop Records (This is pop, 2007) followed by a second (White Monkeys, 2010) and a number of European tours, with a very rocky base that she continues to cultivate. Then she founded Zélie Zénon, and Calypso, before her female synth-pop duo with Sophie Massa, À trois sur la plage (debut album in 2021). Having moved back to Rennes after the lockdown, she and Margot Oger founded the Cartelle label, dedicated to today’s female scene, and more broadly to artists from gender minorities, trans or non-binary people. She made a first compilation based on alternative musical trends bringing together all the styles in this first volume (2021), followed by a second (2024). In addition to her DJ work, Liza Bantegnie has also been involved for a number of years in empowerment workshops and introductory courses in vinyl DJing and group music.
