An ode to the landscapes and communities of northern France, written by César Roynette and Lesli Baechel, Friterie mon ami.e reclaims the traditional travelling chip stall as a place of hospitality and welcome, encounter, conviviality and exchange. Over a shared cone of chips, countless stories are told in search of both a collective narrative and an intimate one. This generous, poetic road-frite — part street theatre, part documentary theatre, part culinary performance — radiates warmth, humanity and humour. A precious moment of togetherness, full of disarming sincerity.

BIOGRAPHY
> COMPAGNIE BONJOUR DÉSORDRE (FR)
This public-space arts company, which works with site-responsive writing and the creation of light, mobile forms, was founded in 2019 by writer and actor César Roynette, born in Lille in 1985. After university studies in economics and environmental and sustainable-development management, he combined his work as an engineer with an amateur theatre practice. He trained with Alexandre Del Perugia and joined the FAI-AR in 2017. He wrote and created his first show, La Mondiale de la terreur, in 2020. Born in Nancy in 1984, Lesli Baechel is a costume designer, visual artist, scenographer and sound designer. After a degree in performance studies at the Sorbonne, she created a mobile sewing workshop for children (La Guerre des Boutons, 2009), then co-founded Compagnie Titanos in 2013, with which she explored the worlds of fairgrounds, carnival and masks. Together, Lesli and César carried out an investigation across Hauts-de-France in search of sunshine, out of which they wrote Friterie mon ami.e, a theatrical tale of hospitality that has been touring since May 2025.
