09LE CHANT DES PAVILLONS is a street-performing string trio in search of moving encounters and a far cry from your classical expectations. Three angelic tramps wander with their contraptions that transcend space and time, a Stroh-violin, a Stroh-cello and a Stroh-bass. The Stroh Project is a space for sharing, reflection and collaboration that plunges us into a world of strange instruments. In 1900, during the early days of sound recording, Augustus Stroh, a telegraph engineer, adapted stringed instruments to give them a mechanical amplification system using a diaphragm and a horn (to replace the sound box). A century later, La Fausse Compagnie started rebuilding these instruments to create disconcerting concerts with a mineral sound that are mobile, and full of the promise of freedom. This is a musical journey that is as unpredictable and funny as it is sensitive and full of light.
