Although the image of the wolf in modern stories has become more endearing than threatening, the fear it arouses has remained intact. It awakens the senses, stimulates creativity and inventiveness, and elicits laughter and relief.
Little gems of Russian, American, English and French animated cinema made between 1943 and 2014, the shorts on the programme of (Même) pas peur du Loup ! show us a wolf that is not so much scary, but rather sympathetic and even ridiculous…
Using subtle combinations of compositions and sound effects, Anne-Laure Bourget and Ollivier Leroy’s music, based on percussion instruments from all over the world, unusual instruments, different keyboards, acoustic guitar, misappropriated objects and sung or spoken vocal parts, illustrates the image in its turn, oscillating between world music, pop music, baroque music and a minimalist universe.
