Using around thirty long iron tubes, Catalan artist Joan Català has created a small wonder, drawing on the sonic and acrobatic possibilities of this new apparatus. Between rigging and musical instrument, construction and imagination, he successively conjures up suspended pendulum landscapes, giant xylophones, huts and an orchestra of flutes… before bringing us together to invent, in complicity, the soundtrack to this truly collective, metal-poetic odyssey.

BIOGRAPHY
> JOAN CATALÀ (Spain)
Born in Barcelona in 1978, choreographer, director and performer Joan Català brings together visual arts and movement in scenographies that create spaces of communication where object and body enter into dialogue within an open environment. He began in visual arts in 1994 at La Llotja, the school of applied arts and crafts. From 1999 to 2005, he trained in several circus schools, including Carampa in Madrid, Rogelio Rivel in Barcelona and the Moscow State Circus School, specialising in acrobatic lifts and balance work while also pursuing parallel training in contemporary dance, physical theatre and clowning. He then joined companies such as Daraomai, Circus Klezmer, Los 2Play and Mudances–Àngels Margarit, before developing the solo Pelat (2013), which continues to tour internationally. With Menar (duo, 2016), 5 100 m/s (duo, 2021) and Idiòfona (solo, 2023), he has continued to develop his own creations while collaborating with a number of circus, dance and theatre companies around the art of movement.
